The Minnesota Police Pipe Band (MPPB) is a nationally recognized, top quality competition and performance pipe and drum corps. Established in 1963, the band performs throughout the year at parades, concerts and competitions in the United States and Canada.
In 2010, the Grade 3 competition corps was awarded Champion Supreme status by the Midwest Pipe Band Association for the second consecutive year. In addition, Grade 3 placed third at the U.S. Open Pipe Band Championships with the Grade 3 drum corps midsection (bass and tenors) winning top honors in the U.S.
MPPB is a major presence at funeral services for Minnesota police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. In 2006 the band served as National Police Pipe Band at Law Enforcement Week in Washington DC and was honored to perform for the President and other dignitaries.
In addition, the band provides the drama of pipes and drums for a variety of charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the Minnesota Special Olympics and Serve Our Troops.
